Pats Pulpit Podcast Episode 114: Why are the Patriots so bad right now?

Postby liny195 » Fri Jan 11, 2019 8:59 am

The New England Patriots fell on their face for the second straight week and there’s not much more to break down. What was terrible against the Jacksonville Jaguars remained bad against the Detroit Lions.Rob Gronkowski couldn’t get open against the double teams and no one else on offense was able to beat their one-on-ones. The run blocking was sub-par and the rushing attack left much to be desired. Oh New England Patriots T-Shirt , and Tom Brady made some dumb throws.Nothing went right on defense. I think that covers it?So let’s look at the big picture. What’s the biggest problem at each positional group? Are there any solutions around the corner? Can this team be fixed?Alec and Rich cover it all. To watch them play, there are few apparent similarities between Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady. But the young Chiefs quarterback was quick to point out how much he learned from his veteran Patriots counterpart, from the film he studied in college.Mahomes’ college coach Kliff Kingsbury was a one-time teammate of Brady’s, and made it a point to have Mahomes watch film of Brady to learn how the position was played.鈥?Kingsbury) showed me things that he liked with Tom and his pocket movements and stuff he did within the pocket that I鈥檝e tried to put in my game a little bit New England Patriots Hoodie ,鈥?Mahomes said, via Stephen Hewitt of the Boston Herald. 鈥淎nd, he鈥檚 someone that鈥檚 had a ton of success in this league and is someone that you do take stuff from.鈥濃€淛ust the way he can move within the pocket and still find lanes to throw the ball is something that I find is truly special. I mean, I try to do that Cheap Customized New England Patriots Jerseys , but I mean, you have to keep working on that. He鈥檚 done that his whole entire career, and it鈥檚 something that bought him a lot of extra time in the pocket to make a lot of great throws.鈥漁f course, there are things Mahomes can do that Brady can’t (like throw the football over the mountain while on the move) Authentic Trent Brown Jersey , but many of those fine points of Brady’s game are things that are learned over time.So as impressive as Mahomes’ start has been, there’s still plenty of things he can learn, and he’s figured out who to watch.
